Cornelius NC Community in Christ Lutheran Church

As the population shift in Mecklenburg County turned north in the late 70’s and early 80’s, the Community in Christ Lutheran Church congregation knew they needed to develop a long term plan for the facilities they would need for the congregational growth they expected. Stewart- Cooper-Newell Architects was hired to develop a phased master plan to give the church a road map for their future. The first Phase included the design and construction of a multipurpose sanctuary/fellowship hall with portable furnishings.

Educational space was also incorporated into this phase. The Second Phase added an administrative/educational wing. Phase 1 and 2 are completed and the third phase is planned to include a new sanctuary. This will leave the existing multipurpose room dedicated for a parish center.
