Monroe NC Bazemore Active Adult Center

The City of Monroe purchased approximately 11 acres of property in downtown Monroe directly across the street from the City Hall. With this purchase the City obtained the old Enquirer Journal Newspaper Building and intended to repurpose the building into a new Senior Center.

The project involved complete interior gutting and renovation along with rusted metal decking demolition. It also involved new roofing and adding a large Public Meeting area with a new kitchen, staff offices, computer room, library, game rooms, exercise area, and gathering areas to hold activities such as pottery/ceramics, woodworking, and many others.
