Built from the ground up, the new Fire Station No. 5 replaced the 1950’s-era firehouse at the same location. The street-level façade of this three-story station is punctuated with tall apparatus bay doors and the upper levels are clad with a glass art wall.


The new station houses a fuel dispensing system, enhanced communications room and upgraded living quarters. The second floor houses officer’s quarters. The firefighter’s living space is on the third floor with dormitory, lockers, fitness room, library and study areas.


The men’s and women’s lavatory are separated by a large locker room that incorporates detachable partitions that accommodates ever-changing male/female populations in the station.


This facility is tracking a LEED gold certification.
