Property Description
The new Fire Department Headquarters replaces an aging station that was
constructed back in 1961. The old station has been demolished and the
construction of the new headquarters has effectively rehabilitated the site
of an old water treatment plant with beautifully landscaped grounds and a
contextually handsome and robust station that features emergency backup
systems, which enables the facility to remain operational in some of the
most severe situations.
A portion of the old treatment plant was left intact, and is utilized for confined
space training exercises.
The new headquarters station includes a Fire Department Museum, modern
administrative facilities, a community and training room, living quarters for
on-call firefighters, and four new emergency response vehicle apparatus
bays. The project also included a secondary fire apparatus bay building
designed to meet the Fire Departments future growth needs and additional
apparatus acquisitions.
The City of Sevierville retained Stewart Cooper Newell Architects to design
the project as well as provide construction contract administration services.
Located on Dolly Parton Parkway in East Sevierville, the new station brings
vastly improved fire protection services to Sevierville’s largest residential
area.
