Weaverville NC Fire Department Headquarters

The catalyst for this project was Weaverville’s decision to move their Fire Department headquarters from an old, poorly functioning downtown facility to an underutilized site near the town’s perimeter. In doing so, the town located the Fire Station closer to a major highway that is the source of many of their emergency calls.

Some of the new facility’s amenities include: individual sleep rooms and toilet / shower rooms for gender accommodation, four drive-through apparatus bays and a large training / community room allowing for department, town and community functions.  The project also called for the inclusion of a variety of training props throughout the station proper, and a 4-story training tower at the rear of the site.

Through these and other spaces, the completed station effectively serves a combination crew of both career (full-time and part-time) and volunteer firefighters that respond to nearly 1,900 annual calls.
