Property Description
Wesley Chapel Fire Department is situated in the burgeoning south-west corner of Union County, NC; and borders the equally flourishing Lancaster and Mecklenburg Counties. The Department was established in 1975 by a small group of local community members with a passion to serve their community.
The department’s primary service area encompasses roughly 48 square miles with a population of just over 50,000. Services are provided from three strategic locations, delivering 24/7x 365 protection to the Village of Marvin, the Town of Weddington, the Village of Wesley Chapel, areas of Unincorporated Union County and a small portion of Indian Trail.
SCNA’s focus and design intent was to be sensitive to the Town of Weddington’s rural character and farming history.
The most prominent feature and focus of the new building are the new apparatus bays. Heavy timber arches, various stones, traditional lap siding, wood clad windows, horse-farm fencing and other residential elements are architectural details that were incorporated to lend a more rural farming community character to the building. SCNA strived to assist the department to meet the Town of Weddington's needs that come with incredibly rapid change and growth.
The new station successfully supports the department’s guiding principles and focus on community service, and is an essential component that enables the department to continue providing professional emergency services and to keep their number one priority and pledge to ensuring citizens are as safe as possible.
